And honestly, it's still freaking me out a little bit.
5
FIVE.
My baby is five years old.
This last December 9th, we celebrated Roslyn's 5th birthday at the happiest place on earth and had the most magical of days complete with Princesses, cake, rides and more. She was truly celebrated in every sense of the word for turning five, just like her mama, who twenty three years ago, celebrated turning 5 with her very first Disneyland trip.
So far at 5, Roslyn loves anything and everything "The Princess and the Frog". She can be found listening to her iPod at any given moment, and you can even catch her singing at the top of her lungs if you're stealth enough.
She still won't have a thing to do with dancing, so mama is learning to say good-bye to dreams of tutu's and rows of cute little ballerinas and dance recitals.
She can't walk by anything with a picture or a logo of anything Yankees without saying "YUCK! We don't like the Yankees!" All you Yankees fans can thank Drew for this.
She can spot a vampire from a mile away on any merchandise and tells me how she doesn't like them, but mama does. And when she thought I may be scared of Vampires momentarily, she told me "Vampires aren't scary, they just talk about their feelings!" Another gem we can thank Drew for.
She has a slight happy meal addiction and a nacho addiction but is finally coming around to finding yummy homemade and healthier foods edible. Thats been at least a 4 year battle.
She likes to have her own world filled with noise and all the things that she loves and finds beautiful.
She loves Starbucks nearly as much as her mama.
She's convinced that on her next birthday she will be 18, and many days I believe her.
She loves the holidays so much that at least 5 times a day she lists off the holidays that are coming next.
She loves to draw and to write and can't wait to start school in August.
She can't ask a question just once, she needs constant reaasurance that things will or will not happen and to know exactly when that will be.
She still loves her My Little Ponies and is the proud owner of almost all of Ponyville.
She's most ticklish on her neck, her tummy and her leg and breaks down into fits of giggles at even the thought that you might tickle her in any of those spots.
She has discovered Littlest Petshops and is quickly gaining a new obsession. And trying to thwart her mama's attempts to steal her little fawn one.
She cares deeply about people and things and is sad if she thinks you are sad and always tries to make it better.
She still watches Doodlebops when she is not feeling well, helping mama to cope with the fact that her baby is growing up but hasnt quite outgrown her baby time favorites.
She's given her mama and her daddy the five best, most rewarding and magical years of their lives.
And thankfully, she still allows her mama little glimpes of that sweet baby when mama needs it most...
It's hard to believe that she's five... but she's still my baby.
She's WHAT? How did you do that? ;)
WOw... I really can't believe she is 5 all ready. She is such a beautiful and amazing young lady!
